As we speed towards Christmas, once again the new picture book by Adam Goodes has taken the top spot by a large margin. This is a gorgeous First Nations read-aloud for ages 2 and up.

A beautiful hardback chapter book about a wild dingo taken by an eagle, written by award-winning author Favel Parrett is number two on the list this week.

Making their first appearance on this list, we have two lovely books about nature and our wild planet. In fifth place on the list we have a gorgeous illustrated hardback divided into four sections: animals, plants, fungi and algae, featuring over 100 objects from nature. The second book, Our Planet, is based on a Netflix documentary of the same name and has a foreword by David Attenborough, along with photography and graphics to describe some of the incredible phenomena on our planet and why it is worth protecting. Both have a special price right now and are an ideal gift for nature lovers for aged 7-12.

Also making it on the list this week, for the first but surely not the last time, is the beautiful new picture book by Melbourne dream team Davina Bell and Allison Colpoys. Their collaborations are always stunning and bring important messages to children in a joyful, fun way. This book is all about resilience and not giving up when times are tough or if you make a mistake. Its a perfect picture book for children aged 4 and up, but it is a lovely message for us all.
