We don’t want to use the words ‘rigged election’, but we are very happy that our kids and YA bestsellers list this week includes not one, but two, bookshop-themed books. The Grandest Bookshop in the World revisits the famous turn-of-the-century Cole’s Book Arcade and imbues it with magic and adventure, while Garth Nix’s The Left-Handed Booksellers of London takes us into a very secret society of talented booksellers in London in the 1980s.

Jessica Townsend’s third Nevermoor book, Hollowpox: The Hunt for Morrigan Crow, sits again at number one, followed by a familiar and eclectic blend of books for all ages: a gorgeously illustrated animal encyclopedia, funny odd-couple shenanigans, the continuing adventures of a beloved canine cop, a heartfelt picture book celebrating the love of a father and more.
