Fiona Hardy’s delightful story of friendship and music and activism, How to Write the Soundtrack to Your Life, sits in the number one spot on our kids & YA bestsellers for the second week running! Other favourites that have been sustaining us include the winner of the Readings Children’s Book Prize 2020, an illustrated junior fiction about a gorgeously grumpy cat, an uplifting Australian graphic novel about the coronavirus pandemic, and the supernatural YA thriller that won this year’s Readings Young Adult Book Prize.

The only new entry this week is Dav Pilkey’s latest The Adventures of Dog Man graphic novel, Grime and Punishment - the ninth in this beloved and very hilarious series about a crime-biting canine.

And a special mention for all the babies and preschoolers out there. What do you call a baby…? by Kamsani Bin Salleh has been out for a few months now, but we’re so pleased that this gorgeous board book about the words that describe iconic Australian baby animals is continuing to find its way to little readers.
