There are lots of exciting new Australian releases in our kids and YA bestsellers this week - including Julianne Negri’s magical time-release debut novel, The Secret Library of Hummingbird House, Jane Godwin’s touching family story, When Rain Turns to Snow and the third book in Anh Do’s Wolf Girl series, The Secret Cave. And we don’t want to speculate why this book has shown up in our top sellers during school holidays, but we must report that The World’s Worst Parents by David Walliams and Tony Ross is selling very well.

Two favourite back-list books are continuing to be highly relevant. Welcome To Country by Aunty Joy Murphy and Lisa Kennedy sits once more in first position, and Bruce Pascoe’s Young Dark Emu continues to pop up regularly in our best sellers, a year after publication.

Our sole YA entry this week is Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which proves that teens still don’t mind reading dystopian fiction in dystopian times.
