Taking out the top spot in its first week of release is Fiona Hardy’s utterly charming middle grade novel, How to Make a Movie in Twelve Days, which follows budding young filmmaker Hayley as she tries to make her debut horror film, Rosebud. Also zooming into the charts in its first week of publication is book four in the bestselling Real Pigeons series by Andrew McDonald and Ben Wood, Real Pigeons Splash Back.

There are some real stayers in our children’s and YA chart this week as well, with The 117-Storey Treehouse, Young Dark Emu, For Whom the Ball Rolls (Dog Man, Book 7), It Sounded Better in My Head, Sick Bay, and The World’s Worst Teachers all continuing to sell strongly. It’s fantastic to see such a broad range of books being loved by our customers; from middle grade comedy to Aboriginal history, to YA romantic comedy and a hilarious graphic novel series.
