Storming into the top spot in our children’s and YA bestsellers is Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton’s utterly chaotic and hysterical new Treehouse book, The 117-Storey Treehouse. With a pyjama party level and a robot suit battle arena level, this latest instalment is just as glorious as the others. If you have a child who is new to the Treehouse series and just itching to feel part of the communal excitement around these books, we currently have all the previous instalments on sale for $10 until the end of July.

Also in our top 10 is Eleni Hale’s exquisite and heartbreaking novel Stone Girl, this year’s winner of the Readings Young Adult Book Prize. It is a story with great crossover appeal, from older teenagers such as the Readings Teen Advisory Board members who described it as a ‘must-read’, to adults such as guest judge Cath Crowley, who called it ‘one of the most compelling YA novels I have read in a long time.’

New releases proving popular with readers are Jane Godwin’s sensitive middle-grade novel As Happy as Here and Yumi Stynes and Melissa Kang’s approachable and friendly body positive guide Welcome to Your Period, alongside longstanding favourites by Bruce Pascoe, Aunty Joy Murphy and Nova Weetman.
