Our bestseller for last week is Alain de Botton’s The News: A User’s Manual - the ultimate guide for our news-addicted age.

After a terrific launch at our Carlton shop, Doug Hendrie’s AmalgaNations: How Globalisation is Good is also one of our top sellers for last week. In this book Hendrie traverses Asia, Oceania and Africa to discover how people are adapting or repurposing ‘global’ cultures.

The list also includes five titles from Australian authors: Christos Tsiolkas, Markus Zusak, Doug Hendrie, Richard Flanagan and Hannah Kent. In case you missed the news last week, we’re thrilled that Hannah Kent has agreed to be a guest judge for one of our two new literary prizes, along with Sally Rippin. You can read more here.
