Last Week's Top Ten Bestsellers

Australian authors dominate our bestselling books this week. Tim Winton’s new novel Eyrie takes out the top spot as our number one bestseller of the past week, and Richard Flanagan, Alex Miller, David Marr, John Safran, Chris Womersley, Rachel Buchanan and Kerry Greenwood round out a list of terrific Aussie authors.

  1. Eyrie by Tim Winton
  2. The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton
  3. The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Richard Flanagan
  4. Coal Creek by Alex Miller
  5. Quarterly Essay 51 The Prince by David Marr
  6. Murder in Mississippi by John Safran
  7. Cairo by Chris Womersley
  8. Stop Press: The Last Days of Newspapers by Rachel Buchanan
  9. Murder and Mendelssohn by Kerry Greenwood
  10. The Circle by Dave Eggers

Of the non-Australians, our number two spot predictably goes to the Man Booker Prize-winning novel The Luminaries by New Zealander Eleanor Catton. A much-deserved winner of the literary prize, our reviewer says of this 800-page novel: ‘readers should be prepared for their soul to be anatomised on an epic voyage that is nothing less than masterly.’

Dave Egger’s new novel The Circle pops up as number 10 on our bestseller list. A satire on the tech world, the novel is dividing critics and fans.

Two highly anticipated new releases are due in-store this week – Barracuda by Christos Tsiolkas and The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt – so expect both to appear in our bestsellers next week!
