Behind the scenes at Christmas

Here’s a behind the scenes glimpse of some of our amazing staff working hard at Readings this December!

As well as posing for a photo, we asked them to tell us which book they are hoping to receive this Christmas.

Austen from our warehouse team is wishing for all levels of geeky awesomeness while our Receiving Manager, Dave, would like to try out some recipes from Borsch, Vodka and Tears.

Megan, from our web team, would love a copy of Grimm Tales for Young and Old, where Philip Pullman retells fifty of his favourite stories from the Brothers Grimm.

Amanda first wants to escape from the wall of boxes that entraps her… Then, she’s planning to delve into some Tudor history, possibly starting with Peter Ackroyd’s latest release.

Music & DVD Specialist, Michael, is hanging out for a copy of May We Be Forgiven, the latest from A.M. Homes and a runaway hit amongst Readings’ staff this year.

Imogen from our web team has her fingers crossed for a copy of Zadie Smith’s exciting recent release, NW.

Web Sales Manager, Roland, is after a first edition of David Copperfield - signed by the author obviously. Judi wishes him luck.

After packing up hundreds of gifts for the post we’re pretty sure Stella deserves a copy of the new David Foster Wallace biography, Every Love Story Is A Ghost Story.

Our head book buyer, Martin, is hoping to lay hands on a copy of Chris Ware’s Building Stories while another of our buyers, Jason, wouldn’t mind taking a few days to catch up on the latest season of In Treatment, starring Gabrielle Byrne.

Ingrid Josephine, Marketing Assistant and The Readings Foundation Administrative Officer, has her eye on a copy of Beci Orpin’s crafy Find & Keep.

Tate is from our Carlton shop and took a 5 second breather to wave at us between customers. He’s after a copy of Jung’s The Red Book.

A huge, huge thank you to all our staff who are working so hard this Christmas!
