Alison Huber is a finalist for Bookseller of the Year 2020

We’re delighted that our Book Division Manager Alison Huber has been shortlisted for this year’s ABA Bookseller of the Year Awards. These awards recognise booksellers for their performance within their own bookshops, along with their achievements within the book industry and throughout their local community.

Huber, who has worked at Readings for 17 years, is a finalist for the ABA Text Publishing Bookseller of the Year award. In 2015, she stepped into the role of head book buyer and over the past six years, has been pivotal in promoting the work of countless emerging Australian authors. She is a passionate force in the Readings team and has a knack for recommending exactly the book you might be looking for.

Readings Manager Director Mark Rubbo commented: ‘I’ve been privileged to work with Alison for quite a few years. Alison has exceptional judgment and sensitivity; every decision and action she makes is deliberate and considered and she does it because she cares – she cares about bookselling, about readers, about authors and about the industry. Her knowledge, insights and collaborative approach helps publishers better serve the industry.’

Huber has been shortlisted for this award alongside Michael Earp (The Little Bookroom), Kate Horton (Farrells Bookshop), Krissy Kneen (Avid Reader), Anna MacDonald (Paperback Bookshop), and Rachel Robson (Berkelouw Books Leichhardt). Congratulations to all the finalists!

The winners of the 2020 ABA Bookseller of the Year Awards will be announced on Wednesday, 8 July.
