Join Jacinta Parsons to celebrate the release of Grace Jennings-Edquist’s new book, The Yes Woman.

In a world that teaches girls to become Yes Women, learning to say ‘no’ is a radical feat. Part memoir and part social critique, journalist Grace Jennings-Edquist’s The Yes Woman combines statistics, expert interviews, and Grace’s surveys of around 200 women (including high profile women like Larissa Waters, Arianna Huffington and Alice Pung) to examine the epidemic of female perfectionism. Grace highlights the way deeply ingrained gender roles require women to be self-sacrificing and “nice”. This is a practical guide to recognising your own Yes Woman tendencies, measuring their cost on your health, and resisting that need to please. It won’t be easy, but it’ll be worth it.
