Review: Pass the Parcel by Carly Gledhill — Readings Books

With Pass the Parcel, Carly Gledhill sends our protagonist, Parcel, on an informative journey through the many stages of the supply chain. From the post office through to delivery, this is no simple journey! Bright colours, blocky shapes and sprinklings of texture all add to the brisk, playful pace of the book. Many modes of transport are used throughout, and the world is filled with a cast of fun, cute characters, reminiscent of those in Richard Scarry’s Busytown. A particular favourite was Pilot Pickle. With storytelling extravagances along the way, Parcel finally arrives in a funny, fold-out final spread, and is delivered to a very unexpected recipient.

This picture book is ideal for a mail-obsessed child or anyone aged 2+ in the mood for a light, rollicking adventure!
