Dangerously Placed by Nansi Kunze
I remember my first work experience. Five long days were spent trapped inside an office staring at a computer screen. The same cannot be said for Alex Thaler’s experience. She’s a whizz at computer games who is lucky enough to secure a position in Simulcorp’s marketing division. Simulcorp is a company that goes beyond limits, gathering all its employees from around the world in one virtual office space. On her second day, Alex’s boss is found murdered in his virtual room on the other side of town. As the evidence is gathered Alex is tipped as a suspect and finds she is being stalked.
How can a teenager defend her innocence in a virtual world? She starts off by turning to the people she trusts most, her two close yet very different best mates. Sky is the hippie of the group who has been assigned to work in a Florist and Kiyoko is the intelligent goth friend who works in a pathology lab. Together, as the case starts to mount against Alex the three friends attempt to solve the murder and in the process try to figure out who is stalking Alex.
