Daughters of Stonedale

Yorkshire, 1915

Mary Cooper has worked at Stonedale Mill for many years and wants to contribute to the war effort in any way she can. When she begins volunteering at the military hospital, she meets Alice Dearing, the rebellious daughter of the mill owner, and despite their vastly different backgrounds, Mary and Alice soon become fast friends.

But when Alice's brother, James, begins making unwanted advances on Mary, her livelihood at the mill is threatened, as well as her relationship with her childhood sweetheart Harry Dalton.

With Alice's help, can Mary overcome the threat posed by James and find a new happiness with Harry?
