A notorious unmarked track through outback Australia, the 'Wire' crosses slabs of lawless land, body-dumping grounds and mobile phone blackspots.

Senior Sergeant Edna Norris knows all too well that her jurisdiction - covering 200,000 square kilometres of South Australia desert - is the place where people go to disappear. But nothing could have prepared her for today's rapidly unfolding crime spree- a runaway teenager, a burned-out car, a missing woman, a bank robbery and a bullet-riddled body.

Further down the High Wire, Harvey Buck and Clare Holland are strangers thrust together for the road trip from hell. Ambushed on the roadside by a vengeful crew, the pair are being forced to commit a series of increasingly murderous missions.
