Chile’s Native Forests: A Conservation Legacy

A beautifully-illustrated book documenting Chile’s rain forests, to draw attention to the urgent need for their preservation. Ken Wilcox, with Ancient Forests International, worked with Chileans to photograph, describe and map Chile’s wild forests, which are the world’s most biologically-diverse. Photographs, maps ands texts document the history of the forests’ exploitation and preservation over the past half a millennium. Interviews with native Chileans powerfully reveal what Chileans feel are the greatest threats to these wild forests. The resulting book is an invaluable and unique result of international efforts to help native peoples speak out about the preservation of their own lands.
