The Crowstarver

When Tom the shepherd comes across a little wailing bundle of a baby in the lambing-pens, it changes his life. He and his wife are childless and are delighted to adopt the baby but soon realise that ‘Spider’ is no ordinary child. A happy character, who does a useful job scaring the crows off the cornfield, Spider’s strange special gift is discovered. He can communicate with animals in an extraordinary way.
