Pat Barker is an award winning British novelist, whose historical fiction often deals with themes of trauma, survival and recovery. Her Regeneration trilogy explores the horrors of the First World War, and more recently she's realesed a critically acclaimed trilogy telling the overlooked stories of the women of the Trojan War.
