Handmade in Melbourne is a wonderful collection of the different artisans making and breaking rules in Melbourne.

Join us for a night of ‘softies’ sewing directed by some of the stars of the book - Madeleine Sargent who specialises in mobiles, quilts and patchwork and Anne Gollan and Kerrie Arthur.

Please bring for the Madeleine Sargent workshop:

  • 2 different pieces of patterned blue fabric, 30x20cm
  • Needle
  • Thread to match fabric
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Fabric marker or pen
  • Small amount of polyfill

Anne and Kerrie will take participants through a workshop on how to make their Giselle Doll and will need to bring:

  • Embroidery cotton- in black, brown, red and cream colour
  • Chopstick for stuffing the doll
  • Embroidery needle
  • Scissors
  • Wool or synthetic stuffing
  • A cotton material or jersey stretch is suitable, 30cm by 25 cm, for the body of giselle
  • A piece of calico 10cm by 10 cm for her face.
  • Fabric will be supplied by the artisans.
