Ouyang Yu book launch of Loose: A Wild History

LOOSE - A Wild History by Ouyang Yu, published by Wakefield Press, to be launched by Alex Miller on Wedesday August 24th, 6-8pm.

Ouyang Yu did not write LOOSE - A Wild History for the Western taste for another rags to riches story set in China so it to took nearly six years to secure a publisher’s contract. It being also a hybrid of fiction and non-fiction experimenting with language and structure, using documentary, interviews, reviews, shun kou liu (tongue slippers) and local dialects didn’t help either. But all of this has created a truer picture of the artist and his environment which challenges us to see a truer China.

The Great Australian anti-novel - Alex Miller

The most concrete piece of writing I have ever read - Nicholas Birns, Editor of Antipodes.

Free, no need book.
