The shallow and divisive public debate on climate change in Australia hasreached a logjam.Taking its lead from Mike Hulme’s book, Why We DisagreeAbout Climate Change (2009), this edition of the Local Global Journal suggestssome ways to bring values back into discussions about climate changeadaptation. It presents the work of a wide range of scholars exploring topicsrelated to affect, religion, art, politics, community engagement, way-of-life, andour responsibilities for forest conservation in Indonesia.

The edition will be launched by Cam Walker, who has worked for Friends of theEarth in Melbourne since 1989 and has served for six years on the Executiveof FOE International. Comments will also be offered by Ellen Sandell, NationalDirector of Australian Youth Climate Coalition.
