In her book, Family Forest, local author, parent and step-parent, Kim Kane, seeks to educate all children about the complex and common Australian family in a fun and entertaining way.

Kim has been short-listed and has also won awards for her 2008 children’s fiction release Pip: The Story of Olive.

Lucia Masciullo is a freelance illustrator who most recently also lent her artistic talent to Sonya Hartnett’s release The Boy and the Toy.
