PEN Melbourne: Keep Words Free — Readings Books

PEN Melbourne has published three pamphlets written by Plestia Alaqad (But Who Reports on the Reporters?), André Dao (The  Role of the Committed Writer in an Unfree World) and Jeanine Leane (Occupied: Poems). These writers challenge us to reconsider what ideas and writing can do in a world increasingly shaped by unease, fracture and division. Keep Words Free is an expression of PEN Melbourne’s charter, and supports PEN's work campaigning for writers who risk imprisonment and in many cases death, by continuing to speak truth to power, and who keep reporting from dangerous places.

Leah Jing McIntosh will do the launching honours on the night.
