What Body Part Do I Need to Sell? is a raw and intimate collection of poems describing the experience of some people living on low incomes in Australia. The author, Kate Connelly, has crafted the poems from interviews undertaken with people receiving welfare benefits in inner and outer metropolitan Melbourne, Victoria. Through despair, frustration and occasionally humour, the poems ultimately raise an awareness of the difficulties some members of our community must face on a daily basis. Jobs Australia is publishing these poems to incite a call to action by our government and policy makers to create greater opportunities for people to work and live above the poverty line.

All proceeds from the sale of this book will go to the Jobs Australia Foundation that aims to achieve positive social change by providing direct assistance and support to the country’s most marginalised people and communities. The Foundation’s current focus is support for projects which are developing leadership and governance in Indigenous communities nationally.
