Emma Matthews is a writer, curator and art historian. She has worked with Mark Strizic over the past ten years, writing catalogues and curating exhibitions of the photographers work for private and public galleries. Mark Strizic, Melbourne: Marvellous to Modern arose from the vision of a young photographer and the inspiration of his new hometown, Melbourne. His pictures were taken at a time when the city’s Victorian elegance was both at its height and under the threat of development from the modern architectural movement.
