To celebrate the launch of two great cartoon collections: Matt Golding’s new book Three-Second Thoughts and Russ Radcliffe’s annual Best Australian Political Cartoons 2009 we are bringing together a panel of some of Australia’s sharpest and wittiest cartoonists to talk about their favourite political cartoons of the year; the difference between gag and political cartooning; what makes a great cartoon; the sources of creativity in cartooning; and whatever else comes up. The panel is: Matt Golding: editorial cartoonist Sunday Age and the Melbourne Weekly; firstdogonthemoon (aka Andrew Marlton): editorial cartoonist for crikey.com; Mark Knight: editorial cartoonist Herald Sun; and Russ Radcliffe will chair the evening.
