Charles Hill-Smith and Robbie Thorpe in conversation
Carlton, Woiwurrung Country, 309 Lygon St, Carlton, Victoria, 3053
We are delighted to have Charles Hill-Smith - filmmaker, thespian, comedian, cartoonist - and Robbie Thorpe – a Victorian indigenous activist of the Krautungalang people of Gunnai nation - in-store to discuss their new adult comic/graphic novel Crime Scene Australia #1: Terror Nulius.
The book was co-authored with Victorian indigenous activist Robbie Thorpe - Krauatungalang Gurnai nation, with cultural protocols by Carroll Karpany (Ngarrindjeri nation). CSA – Terror Nullius, is a 46 page comic book that tells the story of a Sydney based, Australian TV crew, shooting an investigative, cold-case TV-series about historical colonial war and massacre sites; that descends into a murderous and terrifying ghost story. It is a mixed genre graphic novel that combines real Australian history, and contemporary social critique; with black comedy wrapped in a pop-culture narrative of supernatural-horror. Strap in.
