Following the band’s last album Parachutes, Coldplay have played to their strengths with X and Y, but more of the same is not a bad thing for this band. This album is fused together with Coldplay’s distinctive sound, dragged along by Chris’s unusual and beautiful voice. I recommend a listen of this new output, preferably in a lamp-lit room with a hot beverage, you’ll want time to savor it. Coldplay have produced a sound equivalent of comfort food, perfect for winter.
