Somehow not convinced? Read our staff thoughts below to see why you need to pick it up ASAP.

All Fours is one of the best books I have read in a very long time. It is completely bonkers, yet incredibly familiar. July captures something that is terrifying, yet exhilarating. As a person heading towards the Big M, this was a beautiful,  messy and eye-opening tonic. She is nothing short of a genius.

All Fours is here, and it is everything you want and a whole lot more. This book is funny and crazy, full of sex and desire and interior design, and contains so many brilliant one-liners, blistering observational passages and surprising plot twists. All Fours is not for the faint heart or the closed mind, but thank goodness, because July is shaking up the status quo in ways that we desperately need.

I love the idea that All Fours might be autofiction and Miranda July is wild enough to have done or almost done all of this! All Fours is wacky and wonderful, a segment of our Readings customers will be head over heels for this book. You know who you are.

Funny, sexy and unputdownable! This story about a woman's midlife crisis captures the zeitgeist so perfectly I want to thrust it into the hands of everyone I know.

Caveat: at the time of writing this, I’m only halfway through reading All Fours. But as a woman at roughly the same stage of life as its audacious protagonist, I’m confident that The New York Times was right when it declared that Miranda July has written the first great perimenopause novel.

Beginning with the still rare cultural trope of a female driven road trip, this journey to the outskirts of Los Angeles and into the chaotic heartland of middle age is a wild ride. Every page had me nodding in too real, visceral recognition and laughing my head off.
