Last week our Carlton shop hosted the launch of three new bilingual editions of the picture book, My Two Blankets by Irena Kobald and illustrated by Freya Blackwood. This beautiful and powerful story about friendship and culture has now been translated into Arabic, Farsi and Dari by the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre – a project which the Readings Foundation was honoured to support this year. We’re very happy to see these new editions at the top of our list of bestselling children’s and YA books.

Our bestselling YA book is the thrilling and hotly anticipated seventh book in Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass series: Kingdom of Ash. Another new addition to a popular YA series to prove popular last week is Villain – the second part of Michael Grant’s Monster trilogy and set in the same world as his Gone books.

Other bestselling books for young readers include a gorgeous and joyful picture book from Allison Colpoys and Davina Bell, a charming new Stella Montgomery mystery from Judith Rossell, a newly released second book in Andrew McDonald and Ben Wood’s very funny Real Pigeons series, and a whimsical fantasy adventure from Jaclyn Moriarty.
