I am of the opinion that Philip Glass is without a doubt one of the great American composers, and this new CD from harpist Lavinia Meijer is sosuperb it may well persuade the non- believers to agree with me. If ever music was meant to be played on one particular instrument then I would say that Glass’s piano compositions are perfectly suited for the solo harp. His works have always had a hypnotic beauty in their original form, but on the classical harp they have that and so much more.
