Donald Runnicles and BBC SSO have made a stunning debut on this Hyperion label with this recording of Bruckner’s 7th symphony. I have always been an admirer of Bruckner’s majestic compositions and this new recording should please fans as well as create new ones. Everything about this works, from the beautiful cover art to the classic Hyperion sound and, of course, the magnificent playing from the BBC SSO under the excellent direction of Donald Runnicles, whose attention to detail is second to none.
