Mem Fox’s ear for rhythmic rhyme is flawless and guarantees a fun, must-join-in read aloud, and the colourful, playful illustrations are perfect for the intended audience. Young children (and not so young adults!) will delight in looking for the cheeky red bug, but there are plenty of other things to keep an eye out for too, including the busy, dizzy endpapers.
This is Mem Fox at her best, and Laura Ljungkvist’s capricious artwork has ensured a perfect picture book that is sure to become a classic.
