The Son Of Neptune: Heroes Of Olympus V2 by Rich Riordan

Percy Jackson is in trouble… again. This time though, he doesn’t remember who he is (aside from the fact that apparently he’s the son of a god) or what he’s supposed to be doing. His memory is a strange mix of Greek names, prophecies and a history just beyond his grasp. He half recognises the world around him but without his memory or his friends (who is Annabeth and why is she so important?), he’s adrift in this strange place of Roman legionnaires and discipline.

We meet our hero running for his life from some rather humorous Gorgon sisters trying to wreak vengeance on him for killing their more famous sister, Medusa. Although apologetic that he can’t remember, it doesn’t stop them from chasing him right up to Camp Jupiter. Here he meets Hazel and Frank, both normal halfblood kids in their own right. But each has their own secret that will affect the others before their quest is through.

This is a fast paced adventure story that will make you laugh, cry, gasp with fear and cheer when our heroes succeed. There are more action sequences than a Bruce Willis movie, adventure only seen in Indiana Jones, friendship like the Famous Five, loyalty like Lassie, magic like the Magic Faraway tree and humor that is totally unique to Rick Riordan. I tell you what, we’re on our way for a big showdown and I can’t wait to see what it is.
