For some this is a story of survival; for others a story of choices made in the quest for suitable affordable homes and for respect. Between 2003 and 2008 author Janice Newton researched permanent residents of outer suburban and rural Victoria parks. Her innovative research will appeal to both academic and general readers, offering new insights into a range of problems affecting contemporary Australian society.
