Holston is a collection of short fiction containing five short stories and three novellas. Some of the characters of prior works (Unaka) return in this volume. Working class life in rural America is featured. The characters live either in the Appalachian mountains of upper east Tennessee or the Ohio River delta of Western Kentucky.
