A l'Hopital Principal, de janvier 1975 a decembre 1982, soit en 96 mois, 22.776 malades ont ete admis dont 7 cas d'insuffisance thyroidienne peripherique. Notons qu'un nombre a peu pres egal d'hypothyroidie d'origine centrale (6) y a ete admis. L'Hopital Abass NDAO, a ses consultations de Medecine Interne a predominance diabetologique, endocrinologique et gastroenterologique, a recu d'aout 1979 a juin 1983, soit en 36 mois, 2.218 malades. Nous avons observe parmi eux, 13 cas d'insuffisance thyroidienne primaire (dont 3 chez des diabetiques). ici aussi, nous avons observe un nombre a peu pres egal de cas (12) d'hypothyroidie centrale. Les observations numerotees de 1 a 7 viennent de l'Hopital Principal; celles numerotees de 8 a 20 de l'Hopital Abass NDAO et les 4 dernieres (de 20 a 24) proviennent de l'Hopital A. Le Dantec.
