Review

Jeremy, more commonly known as Jem, his sister Maddy and their younger brother Tyler were ordinary kids who lived on a farm on the outskirts of Darwin. Then their world was turned upside when their father was caught in a mining accident. Now, because Steve Isherwood lost one leg and is in need of constant therapy, the family of five live in Darwin and Jem feels like his world consists of people arguing; what with his dad yelling all the time and his mum’s constant arguments with his sister.

And then just when things look like they will never get better the children’s great-aunt Ella turns up put of the blue on their doorstep. Ella is a solo sailor and spent the last ten years sailing around the world and once she sees the stress they are all under she decides that what the children need is a little break. So she takes them on a trip, one that turns out not to be as quite straightforward as they had expected. Ella is on the trail of a ship that sank nearly a hundred years ago - a ship that was carrying a priceless treasure. And so with the help of ancient documents the adventurers set out on a quest that will take them though uncharted waters, whirl pools and dangerously close to ravaging cliffs.

But they soon begin to realise that there is someone following them and after several documents are stolen they discover that they are not the only ones after the ancient treasure. And the closer they get to their destination the closer they come to realising that there is a strange connection between the Isherwood’s and the Lonely Isles. This book is an exciting adventure mystery that will make you keep turning the pages and is definitely for anyone who likes treasure, sea adventures and solo sailing aunts.
