Seasons

Blexbolex,Blexbolex

The purpose of this book is to encourage observation of the natural world around us, as well as the world of daily life, the world of the past, and the world of the imagination. Blexbolex does this by portraying the cycle of the seasons and the passage of time from different focal points, encouraging the reader to think about how people inhabit time, get accustomed to it, lose track of it and remember it. This book is beautiful and graphically amazing as well as educational and imaginative and artistic. Consequently, the audience for this title is large: children, educators, graphic designers, artists, nature centers, museums and book lovers in general. The Daily Heller, which is one of the blogs connected to Print Magazine ran a piece on another amazing book by Blexbolex. Blexbolex is indeed a rising star. In addition to the prestigious design distinction he was awarded this year (the Alcuin Society’s Goldene Letter for best book design from all over the world, 2009), he was recently chosen by Phaidon to redesign the bible of traditional French home cooking, I Know How to Cook by Ginette Mathiot. Truly high production values: 3 piece cover (paper front & back, cloth spine onto front & back). Foil stamping on spine, front and back covers, on fabric only. The spine: square backed with h&t bands. Each copy individually shrink wrapped. Selected by the Val de Marne regional department for a special printing of 20,000 copies. This special sale is highly prized among children’s publishers in France.
