Bringing together experts in cell mechanics, this volume discusses problems and methods relevant to research at the subcellular, cellular, and tissular levels, with special consideration given to multiscale approaches. The first chapters deal with single cells and cell migration, discussing aspects of microrheology and cell adhesion. Middle chapters consider cell mechanics under the influence of the environment. The final chapters move on to more complex multi-cellular situations, including cell-cell interactions, tissues, and tumors. The authors provide biological, mechanical, and physical approaches.
