It is extraordinary that the Pastor should stay upstairs so long to-day. Mrs. Helseth. Oh, he often does so. But now he will certainly be down soon, I should think. Rebecca. Have you seen anything of him? Mbs. Helseth. When I went upstairs with the coffee he was in his bed-room, dressing. Rebecca. I ask because he did not seem quite well yesterday. Mrs. Helseth. Yes, he looked unwell. And then, I shouldn’t be surprised if something had passed between him and his brother-in-law. Rebecca. And what do you think that may have been ? Mbs. Helseth. That I can’t say. Perhaps it’s this Mortensgard that has set them against one another. Rebecca. That ia possible. Do you know this Peter Mortensgard ? Mbs. Helseth. Ob, no, Miss West.
