The story of the Living Robot is about the robotic nature of mankind and seeing the false nature of our lives. The robot is described as the result of brain chemistry, using a system of thought composed of patterns and programs imprinted on the brain to express its self. The mechanical reactions of these patterns are what constitutes the life of the Living Robot. But since it is an evolving living system, it also has the capacity to learn that it may not actually be the robotic self, but instead be the mystery that it sensed through its long journey of evolution - the mystery of Awareness, the Life within - the mystery that can never be known by the mind but must be "experienced" with an empty mind.
