This version is cut from the original stereo tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio, pressed and plated at RTI and housed in a Stoughton old-style tip-on jacket. 180 gram vinyl.Joan Baez introduced the world to the pure and soaring soprano of a then 19 year-old unknown folk singer, who had recently come to prominence after the 1959 Newport Folk Festival. Upon its initial release, the album landed at #15 on the Billboard 200 and spent 140 weeks on the chart. The recording has been honored by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences in 2011, who inducted it into the Grammy Hall Of Fame; and by the Library of Congress in 2015, who selected it to be preserved in the National Recording Registry.
