Damien was introduced to Roy Orbison’s music as a teenager in Ireland by his father, yet his major connection came about in 2006 when Leith became a contestant on the 4thseries of Australian Idol (which he went on to win). Damien performed “Crying” to a “touchdown” response from the judges. The ripple effect of that performance attracted the attention of Barbara Orbison and Orbison Music. Barbara Orbison invited Damien to Nashville to record the album and also came on board as Executive Producer. The album will be released as part of the 75thanniversary celebrations of Roy Orbison.
