The musical talents of the violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter were\nfostered from a young age by her two teachers, both pupils of Carl\nFlesch. At the age of 13, at a triumphant Lucerne Festival recital,\nshe attracted the attention of Herbert von Karajan, who invited her\nto appear at the 1977 Salzburg Spring Festival and then to make an\naward-winning record of Mozart concertos with the Berlin\nPhilharmonic. The continuing musical partnership with Karajan and\nfurther recordings with him confirmed her status as one of the\nfinest violinists of her generation and enabled her to develop a\nhugely successful international career as concerto soloist, chamber\nmusician and the inspiration for a number of important works from\ncontemporary composers. This CD features her superb EMI recordings\n(from 1981 and 1991) of Mozart concertos.
