Final Cut Film Music For Four Guitars

Aquarelle Guitar Quartet

Catalogue # CHAN10723

\n

This disc comprises some of cinema’s most memorable musical\nmoments, as chosen and arranged for four guitars by the members of\nthe Aquarelle Guitar Quartet.

\n

Without music, movies would not be what they are today, and the\nQuartet here explores the full stylistic spectrum of the film music\ngenre. ‘It is in the interpretation of this variety’, they explain,\n‘that the guitar truly comes alive.’

\n

Many, if not most, of the film scores represented on this disc\nare classics, and they have the awards to show for it. Music from\nthe Academy Award-winning scores for Frida, Titanic, Schindler’s\nList, and Il postino rubs shoulders with ‘Minor Swing’ from\nChocolat, which received a Golden Globe for Best Original\nScore.

\n

Also on this disc is the Theme from the score for

\n

A Summer Place by Max Steiner, which won him the Grammy Award\nfor Record of the Year in 1961, and music from the more recent The\nPiano, the soundtrack for which received an Ivor Novello Award, and\nsubsequently became a classical music bestseller with more than 3\nmillion copies sold.

\n

Music from these and many other famous films is here performed\nby the Aquarelle Guitar Quartet, a dynamic and innovative ensemble\nthat captivates audiences with eclectic repertoire and\nspell-binding performances. Since its formation, the Quartet has\nperformed extensively across the UK and abroad to great critical\nacclaim.
