Played by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and conducted virtuously by Gustavo Dudamel, who this year received a Star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood complemented with a speech by his friend John Williams. Lots of soundtracks for box-office hits followed: Jaws (1975), E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) Schindler’s List (1993) Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), Hook (1991), Jurassic Park (1993), The Force Awakens (2015) – to name just a few.
