Handel Arias
De Niese Danielle
Review
Catherine Koerner
Danielle de Niese, the 26-year-old Melbourne-born soprano, makes her recording debut following the acclaim for her performance as Cleopatra in the 2005 Glyndebourne production of Handel’s Giulio Cesare. This disc includes well-known and lesser-known arias by Handel, further demonstrating her ability as an up-and-coming young soprano. She is ably accompanied by William Christie, her conductor at Glyndebourne, and the players of Les Arts Florissants.
