Please join us as Bronwyn Pike the Minister for Education launches Notes from the Warsaw Ghetto by Neil Cole. This is a play about Emmanuel Ringelblum who was the historian of the Warsaw ghetto. Together with his group, known as the Oneg Shabbat (“Sabbath Celebrants”), they collected material for the archives to ensure that the world knew what was happening in Warsaw. In this they were successful. Unfortunately they never had the opportunity to conclude the notes from the extensive archive they had collected, because of the deportations that took place in September 1942. Neil Cole is Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne based at the Mental Health Research Institute.
