Those who peruse the Carlton shelves frequently will most likely recognize a couple of the discs in this four CD collection. With highlight recordings of two of Vivaldi’s Operas, Orlando Furioso and La Fida Ninfa, it also has a CD of some of his sacred works and the flute concertos. These particularly for me are a highlight. Beautiful tone with fantastic technique on period instruments these are exciting and musically satisfying renditions of favourite concertos, both for flute and piccolo.
